NNA – Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdallah Bou Habib, on Tuesday welcomed 15 ambassadors and chargeacute; d#39;affaires representing the countries that signed the Beirut Port explosionrsquo;s joint statement at the Human Rights Council.
Minister Bou Habib kicked off the meeting by observing a minute of silence for the souls of Beirut Port blast martyrs.nbsp;
The Ambassadors then handed Minister Bou Habib a letter, in which they urged quot;the competent Lebanese authorities to expedite the judicial investigations of Beirut port explosion,rdquo; deploring the ldquo;slow course it has taken to date,rdquo; and expressing their concern about ldquo;continuing attempts to obstruct it.rdquo;
For his part, Minister Bou Habib affirmed the Lebanese government#39;s commitment to reveal the circumstances surrounding the port explosion, while stressing that ldquo;this responsibility is that of the Lebanese judiciary, which must carry out its duties in accordance with the laws and principles that govern its work.rdquo;nbsp;
Bou Habib expressed hope that matters would take their normal course, whether at the level of judicial or constitutional institutions.nbsp;
