US Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy has hinted at a possible deal allowing Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to return to Australia.
Mr Assange has been facing extradition to the United States on charges of espionage for more than a decade and sought refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for seven years.
He has been fighting for years in British courts to avoid being sent to the United States, where he faces 17 charges of espionage and a charge of misusing computers for the publication by WikiLeaks of diplomatic documents. and classified military.
