NNA – To commemorate the 76th Independence day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was organized at the Embassy of Pakistan Beirut. The ceremony was attended by members of Pakistani community and staff of the Embassy along with their families.
The ceremony was also attended by the Lebanese citizens belonging to different walks of life.
Messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read on the occasion. While addressing the community, the Ambassador paid rich tribute to our forefathers for their sacrifices to achieve a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent. Moreover, he noted that we as a nation have achieved many milestones during the last 76 years and it is time to seek guidance from the ideology and thoughts of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal to make our country greater.
He also expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reiterated Pakistan#39;s unwavering support for people of IIOJK. He urged the community to remain united and work hard for progress of Pakistan.
