The family was on foot, making their way back home when a driver hit their 17-year-old son with his truck, tragically leading to the boy’s death. The driver promptly dialed 911 shortly after the collision occurred, around 6:30 a.m.</p> <p>Subsequently, the father, later identified as Chad Woods, retrieved a firearm and fatally shot the driver. After the shooting, Woods allegedly took possession of the driver’s vehicle and returned to their residence on Cedar Creek.</p> <p>The sheriff’s office revealed that Woods disposed of the gun used in the shooting by throwing it into a nearby pond. Dive teams extensively searched the pond for hours but have not yet located the weapon. The search is set to resume on Tuesday morning.</p> <p>The driver who lost his life in the incident has been identified as Jeffery McKay.
