Former President Donald Trump has until noon next Friday to turn himself in to authorities in Fulton County, Georgia, after he and 18 associates were charged for their role in trying to reverse the 2020 election result .
His arrest and treatment will almost certainly reflect his status as former commander-in-chief.
However, the local sheriff has already suggested that Trump should pose for a mugshot.
“Unless someone tells me otherwise, we are following our normal practices, and so regardless of your status, we will have a photo ID ready for you,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said. at WSB-TV.
Arrestees usually have their fingerprints taken to the county jail, which is known for its squalid conditions, although Trump is not being held there pending trial.
Former President Donald Trump has not yet been photographed in the three cases in which he has been charged. That could change in Georgia. Instead, AI has been used by social media users to simulate images suggesting what a mug shot might look like.

The latest case against Trump, who is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in 2024, is laid out in a 98-page indictment.
It includes details of a phone call to the Georgian Secretary of State urging him to find more votes for him and allegations that an election worker has been harassed by false allegations of fraud.
And in one of the most extraordinary examples of attempts to change the outcome, he describes an alleged plot to gain access to voting machines and steal data.
“The indictment alleges that instead of complying with Georgia’s due process for election challenges, the defendants engaged in a criminal racketeering enterprise to nullify the result of Georgia’s presidential election” , Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said Monday night.

The sheriff’s department says most people arrested in Fulton County are taken to the main jail on Rice Street, northwest of downtown, where conditions are being investigated.
Now Trump and his 18 co-defendants have until noon Aug. 25 to surrender.
They will each appear in court to hear the formal reading of the charges and to enter a plea.
However, Trump’s lawyers could ask the court to drop the indictment and plead “not guilty” without appearing in court.
Barricades have already been set up around the downtown Atlanta courthouse amid protests.
The sheriff’s department says most people arrested in Fulton County are taken to the main jail on Rice Street, northwest of downtown.
The notorious, bug-infested facility is being investigated by the Department of Justice after a series of deaths.
Launching the investigation last month, U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan of the Northern District of Georgia said, “Recent allegations of substandard housing teeming with insects, rampant violence resulting in death and injury, and officers using excessive force are a cause for grave concern and warrant further investigation.
Those arrested usually undergo a medical examination and fingerprinting at the prison.
