The Fulton County Sheriff is calling on Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants to “surrender” to the Fulton County Jail.

It comes after District Attorney Fani Willis gave Trump and the crew until noon Aug. 25 to voluntarily surrender to authorities for treatment and arraignment.

“Keep in mind that the defendants can turn themselves in at any time,” the sheriff’s office said Tuesday – the day after the grand jury voted on the indictment.

“The jail is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” the sheriff continued. “Furthermore, due to the unprecedented nature of this case, certain circumstances may change with little or no warning.”

Although this is the fourth indictment against Trump, it could be the first time he has had his photograph taken. And critics are eagerly awaiting the chance to use an authentic photo of the former president in their protest signs.

Fulton County Sheriff urges Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants to voluntarily surrender anytime before noon Aug. 25, saying, ‘The jail is open 24/7’

Among the co-defendants are Trump attorney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (left) and attorney Sidney Powell

Although he will have to appear for an arraignment – as in the other three indictments – it is highly unlikely that Trump will actually go to jail.

Alongside the former president, 18 other people were also indicted on Monday evening. Co-defendants include Trump attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former Republican Party Chairman David Shafer.

The 41-count indictment also names attorneys John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, Jenna Ellis and Ray Smith.

The 19 are accused of breaking Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) law, which was often used to take down mob bosses and their lackeys.

The charges follow the investigation and case into efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia and the campaign to pressure Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s ” finds the votes” needed for a Trump victory there.

Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Natalie Ammons said in a statement: ‘At this point, based on advice received from the district attorney’s office and the presiding judge, it is expected that the 19 defendants named in the indictment will be held in Rice Street Jail. ‘

At a late night press conference on Monday, DA Willis said arrest warrants had been issued for all 19 defendants.

The other three indictments against Trump have yet to result in convictions. The first was earlier this year in relation to the silent payment Trump made to porn star Stormy Daniels, the second was just a month later for the mishandling of classified documents and the third came in late July when Trump was indicted for his role in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and the attempts to cancel the election.

The Georgia case is another election interference indictment, but specifically goes after Trump’s intense pressure campaign in the Peach state to get authorities to overturn Biden’s victory there.

Former President Donald Trump has not yet been photographed in the three cases in which he has been charged. That could change in Georgia. Instead, AI has been used by social media users to simulate what a mugshot might look like.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat suggested that Trump should pose for a photo when he turns around.

“Unless someone tells me otherwise, we follow our normal practices, and so regardless of your status, we’ll have a photo ID ready for you,” Labat told WSB-TV.

Arrestees usually have their fingerprints taken to the county jail, which is known for its squalid conditions, although Trump is not being held there pending trial.

In other cases, Trump didn’t have to endure the indignity of having a photo released publicly.
