A 75-year-old man faces court charged with 21 historic child sex offenses in the NSW Hunter region.

Police will accuse the man of indecently sexually assaulting a girl he knew on several occasions between 2010 and 2015.

The man was arrested on Wednesday at a rural property in Fernances Crossing, south-west of Cessnock.
