David de Gea’s proposed move to Bayern Munich is off, according to reports in Germany.
Goalkeeper De Gea is a free agent after leaving Manchester United in the summer.
Although the Spaniard performed well overall last season, he made a number of high-profile mistakes and manager Erik ten Hag reneged on a contract offer, allowing the stopper to leave for free at the end of his contract.
German giants Bayern are reportedly in talks over a deal for the 32-year-old free agent amid No1 Manuel Neuer’s injury.
But Florian Plettenberg, Sky Sports journalist tweeted: ‘FC Bayern won’t sign David De Gea either. It’s decided. Tuchel has vetoed it, especially since a return from Manuel Neuer is expected in the coming weeks.

‘As reported: Tuchel was pushing for (Manchester City assistant Stefan) Ortega and had a phone call with him – but the deal is close to being done now.
“Discussions with De Gea have taken place. He was ready to join FC Bayern. But it’s over now.
Neuer, 37, is coming back from a long-term injury after breaking his leg in a freak skiing accident.
His understudy Sven Ulreich was between the sticks for Bayern’s first match of the season, the German Super Cup against RB Leipzig, but Tuchel and Co lost 3-0.
Plettenberg claims that with Neuer back in a few weeks, Bayern are happy to settle for Ulreich until the veteran returns.
It has also been reported that De Gea’s wage demands were too high for Bayern, who lost last season’s first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer to Inter Milan. Sommer replaced Andre Onana, signed to succeed De Gea as United’s No.1 by Ten Hag.
Real Madrid are also believed to have given up the chance to land De Gea for nothing, instead signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan to cover Thibaut Courtois’ injury.
With Manchester City unwilling to sell Ederson replacement Stefan Ortega to the Bavarian outfit, it has been claimed Bayern are in the ‘final stages’ of signing Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper Daniel Peretz .
