Guy Sebastian reveals details of his ‘devastating’ split with wife Jules: ‘I haven’t eaten for a week’

Guy Sebastian opened up on Friday about a “devastating” split with his wife Jules that left him unable to eat for a week.

The Voice Australia coach, 41, revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that when he and Jules were dating in 2000, she briefly dumped him because he was a ‘bullshit boyfriend’.

“I grew up sheltered and was a bit weird. I was obsessed with sports and didn’t make her a priority. She was more of a buddy than a friend,” he began.

So she dumped me. I was devastated and gutted. I couldn’t eat anything for more than a week.’

Luckily Guy said he could win her back after they both realized how much they missed each other.

“I went down the wrong path and felt lonely. She dumped me so I did my time and it made me realize she was a really good person,” he added.

Guy married his wife Jules Egan in late 2007 after eight years of dating, and they share two sons, Hudson, 11, and Archie, nine.

Earlier this month, Sebastian revealed that his wife was hesitant to have kids when they first started dating.

The singer spoke Who Australia about his wife Jules’, 43, fear of motherhood.

“Jules was a tomboy growing up. You know how some women growing up are like, “I just can’t wait to be a mom?” the Australian Idol star began.

‘While Jules was terrified of it. I never heard the words ‘I want to be a mom’ come out of her mouth because I think she was afraid she wouldn’t do well,” he said.

Despite her reservations, Guy claims Jules entered motherhood naturally with the couple’s two sons.

“What I’ve seen her do incredibly well is being a mother,” the pop star said, praising his wife.

“I think you have a newfound love for your partner when you see them in a role like that — nurturing and caring for the people who matter most to you. She kills it!’ he added.
