Warren Gatland will name his 33-man Wales squad for the World Cup this morning and Johnny Williams is hoping the announcement caps a remarkable turnaround.
In 2019, the center was diagnosed with testicular cancer, recovering quickly from chemotherapy.
“Four years ago I was watching the World Cup from a hospital bed,” Williams said. “So the ability to maybe play the tournament four years later is hard to sum up.
“Every working day has been spent playing for Wales and going to the World Cup since I remember when I was six years old when my dad used to take me to the stadium to watch Wales .

‘It would be difficult to summarize, considering where I was four years ago. I dreamed of one day going to a World Cup.
“My dad took me to Cardiff to watch the internationals. I just remember that I really wanted to be on the pitch and play for Wales. Hopefully it all ends on Monday with World Cup selection.
Gatland’s selection was made easier after seeing a rookie from Wales hammered 52-16 by the 2019 South African champions in Cardiff.
Center Williams was one of the few players to impress, although he saw a pass intercepted for an opposing try.
