All Sony Systems, Including PlayStations, Have Been Hacked, New Ransomware Gang Claims and Threatens to Sell Stolen Data

A gang of hackers claimed to have breached Sony’s security systems and stolen data. The group now offers to sell the data to the highest bidder.
Sony did not confirm the violation in a statement, but said it was investigating the allegations.
“We have successfully compromised (sic) all Sony systems,” Ransomed.vc claimed on light and dark networks, as reported by Cyber Security Connect. “We will not ransom them!” We will sell the data. Because Sony doesn’t want to pay. THE DATA IS FOR SALE,” the Ransomed.vc group said in a statement.
The alleged breach was first reported by an Australian site Connection to cybersecurity.
The cybersecurity report states that Ransomed.vc uploaded a PowerPoint presentation showing how the hack was carried out, including screenshots of a login page and screenshots of files.

So far, Sony has not confirmed the breach, but said in a statement that it was investigating the allegations.
The group said it was in possession of 6,000 files, which is described as “small” compared to “all Sony systems.”
“We are currently investigating the situation and have no further comment at this time,” Sony’s press release said.
The cybersecurity report states that Ransomed.vc threatened to publish the information it collected online on September 28 if it is not paid for. The warning gives Sony the group’s contact details.
The stolen data is believed to be in Japanese.
A bizarre element of the alleged hack is that Ransomed.vc said that if payment had not been received, they would be forced to report the breach to the European Union’s data privacy body.
The last major hack of Sony’s system took place in 2011, when the data of 77 million users was compromised. As a result, the company took the PlayStation Network offline for a month.
Sony officials were even dragged before Congress to explain the violation while being forced to pay compensation to victims.
