Graham Norton celebrated his career milestone on This Morning on Tuesday and discussed how his show has had to change over time.
The 60-year-old TV legend – who is known for bringing some of the biggest A-list stars onto the famous red sofa – admitted: ‘If someone told me in 25 years that you will be doing this job, I don’t believe them. ‘
Nearly thirty years in the making, the Irish star admitted it doesn’t feel like so much time has passed, adding that the work is always exciting because “it never stays the same” and “guests are always different.”
But some time has passed since he started his legendary Graham Norton Show – and he’s had to adapt to the changing times.
“You know, when I first started I was in my thirties, now I’m in my sixties. Oh god,’ he said to Holly and Ben.

“Well, asking about your sex life in your thirties was fine, but I think when you’re in your sixties it’s a bit creepy. So things had to change.’
Graham added: ‘You’re dealing with big stars at the top of their game these days, so you have to be a little more careful about what you say.’
When Holly asked if it’s difficult choosing who sits with who in certain episodes, the Irish star joked: “On your good days you think about that.”
“But on the bad days you just think, ‘Here it is.’ But you try to plan a little bit.’
He added: ‘Some people are actually interested in people. A few other big stars are just sitting there waiting for their names to be called.”
His appearance on the daytime show comes after the comedian was spotted taking a relaxing dog walk with husband Jonathan McLeod around Hampstead in north London on Sunday.
The couple, who got married last year, tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, so this was a rare sighting for them.
They were accompanied by their black cockapoo named Douglas, who walked faithfully alongside them as Jonathan maintained his lead.

Graham, who normally appears suited and well-dressed for his TV appearances, ditched his signature smart look for a more casual off-duty outfit.
The Graham Norton Show performer wore a beige sweater with white stripes on the chest, paired with a colorful denim and fleece jacket.
He added a pair of jeans to the outfit, along with a pair of white sneakers. Graham completed the look with a pair of aviator sunglasses.
Meanwhile, Jonathan also opted for an understated ensemble: he wore a khaki sweater and jacket with a floral print, jeans and sneakers.
Earlier this year, Graham broke his silence on his marriage to Jonathan, revealing that he married the filmmaker in July 2022.
The news surprised his fans due to the private nature of their relationship.
But in a new interview, he has now revealed the details of their wedding and what it was like getting married later in their lives.
Graham and Jono tied the knot at Bantry House in Ireland last summer after opting for an Irish wedding to accommodate the former’s mother, Rhoda Walker.
The lavish performance was held in his native West Cork, where 120 guests were in attendance, with a rumored performance from music icon Lulu, while drag queen Panti Bliss performed.
Graham has now told it The guard about the day he joked that “till death do us part” was “more attainable” at age 60.
He said: ‘I had a joke in my speech: the vows are much more manageable. ‘Till death do us part’ seems more feasible at our age.
‘If you get married at 23, that’s a big ask. We only have to put up with each other for a few decades. And then I’m out of here.’
Jonathan ‘Jono’ McLeod is an acclaimed Scottish filmmaker and the couple tied the knot in July last year, after meeting six years earlier.
After bringing together a host of stars for their glamorous Irish wedding, the couple have remained blissfully happy ever since.
Graham revealed at the time: ‘I got married this year and we had our wedding party close to where my mother lives in Ireland so she could come.

“She wouldn’t have been well enough to come to London, so West Cork it was. And it made me very happy.’

‘I belong to that generation of gays who assumed this would never happen. So first of all, it’s extraordinary that it could happen. I mean, I never gave up hope of finding the one. If it was a surprise, it was a pleasant surprise.”
