The Sun’s original article claimed to reveal a “failure to investigate claims” that a BBC star – then publicly anonymous – had paid thousands of dollars for explicit images.
The mother and stepfather of the alleged victim, who they say was 17 when first contact was made with the presenter, and who is now 20, have gone to South Wales Police in April to report Mr. Edwards, but were told there was no crime.
In May this year, the alleged victim’s mother made a complaint about Edwards’ behavior, with details passed to the company’s investigation team.
On May 19, the team sent an email to the complainant and received no response.
The star’s wife Vicky Flind (right) named her husband as the man at the center of the allegations earlier this year.
