NNA – Pope Francis affirmed today that the war itself is a quot;crime against humanityquot; and repeated his call for peace in Ukraine and the Middle East.
The Pope said after a weekly prayer, reported by Reuters: ldquo;Let us not forget this… People need peace, the world needs peace.rdquo;
During the prayer, he urged people not to forget the suffering caused by the quot;cruelty of warquot; in many parts of the world. He repeatedly called for peace in Ukraine and in the war in Gaza.
ldquo;Let us pray that those who have authority over these conflicts will reflect on the fact that war is not the way to solve them, because it sows death among civilians and destroys cities and infrastructure,rdquo; the Pope said.
