NNA ndash; MP Melhem Khalaf said today in a statement marking Saint Maronrsquo;s Feast, that on this day we remember this hermit monk who was followed by a pious, faithful, active, rooted, persevering nation, resisting and conquering difficulties and exclusion.
ldquo;This hermit, with his resounding mark, led a solid group that had a vision and perseverance which enabled it to remain steadfast for generations…Saint Maron fortified himself with prayer in the face of violence and persecution, so that he became the wheat in the land of the endowment of heaven… He formed this land with the sweat of his body so that generations would grow in it life, joy, faith, a future, and steadfastness,rdquo; he said.ldquo;On the feast of Saint Maron, we pray to him, asking him to inspire us with wisdom, vision, humility, and piety so that his message may continue to radiate in the land where he lived and his virtues would spread from there to the world at large,rdquo; Khalaf underlined.
At the local political level, Khalaf considered that Saint Maron#39;s message also continues through the people#39;s representatives#39; compliance with the general order that is in line with the constitution, which begins with meeting immediately to elect the head of state. He regretted what is currently happening,nbsp;describing thisnbsp;stage as one of quot;disobedience and rebellion against legitimacy, the constitution, the formula, and mutual coexistence, as well as the teachings of Saint Maron.rdquo;
