NNA – Responding to media reports alleging that UNIFIL has recently informed the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), citing the Israelis, that the entire city of Nabattieh has become a target for Israel, UNIFIL Spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said, ldquo;I saw the reports and honestly I am not aware of any specific conversation between LAF and UNIFIL in relation to what has been reported.rdquo;
ldquo;We often meet with our strategic partners (LAF) to discuss several issues related to security and safety along the Blue Line and these conversations are confidential,rdquo; Tenenti said.
ldquo;The Mission is doing its utmost to de-escalate tensions and prevent dangerous misunderstandings between the parties (LAF and the Israeli Army) as well as continuing our daily activities along the Blue Line to de-escalate tensions,rdquo; the UNIFIL spokesperson added.
