NNA – Prime Minister Najib Mikati received today a call from British Foreign Minister David Lammy, during which relations between Lebanon and Britain and the situation in the region were discussed.nbsp;
The British Minister stressed exerted efforts quot;to address the tense situations in southern Lebanon and Gaza, and to work together for peace and security in the Middle East,quot; noting that quot;he will visit Lebanon soon.quot;
He added: quot;I have raised my concerns about the escalation of tensions on Lebanon#39;s borders and the increasing possibility of miscalculation,quot; considering that quot;expanding the conflict is not in anyone#39;s interest.quot;
quot;The United Kingdom wants to see this matter resolved peacefully through a negotiated settlement,quot; Lammy asserted.
