NNA ndash; Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday emphasized the continued collaboration among all the Lebanese ministries and institutions with international organizations and civil society groups under the government#39;s emergency plan. This plan is designed to address the severe conditions the country is facing and prepare for any potential developments.

Mikati also highlighted active diplomatic efforts on two fronts: mitigating Israeli threats against Lebanon and working towards a ceasefire in Gaza. He underscored that the Lebanese government#39;s recently announced framework for long-term stability in southern Lebanon sets clear guidelines for de-escalation to avoid destructive cycles of violence. This framework calls for a decisive international role in calming tensions and curbing ongoing Israeli aggression.

The Prime Minister reiterated that United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 is crucial for ensuring stability and security in southern Lebanon. He assured that Lebanon is working with relevant nations to extend the mandate of the UNIFIL force without changes.

Mikati also noted that cooperation between the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL is essential, dismissing rumors of disagreements and affirming Lebanon#39;s commitment to UNIFIL#39;s mission.

In a broader meeting, Mikati convened key officials, including interior and environment ministers and provincial governors, to ensure readiness of crisis and emergency response cells at the governorate level.

Discussions focused on improving shelter facilities and logistics to accommodate potential increases in displaced populations, particularly from the southern border areas.

Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, stressed the importance of preparedness for potential escalations and the need for timely financial support for emergency needs.

Additionally, Mikati met with representatives from the tourism sector to address their concerns amid the ongoing conflict, including requests for tax relief and support for infrastructure challenges. He also discussed energy issues with Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayad, focusing on the delayed electricity contract with Iraq and the need for legislative support to facilitate financial transactions.

Finally, on International Youth Day, Mikati engaged with youth leaders and scout organizations, underscoring the importance of empowering Lebanon#39;s youth and integrating them into national development efforts.

The PM expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to Lebanonrsquo;s future, reaffirming the government#39;s commitment to supporting youth initiatives and addressing their needs.
