NNA – The following is a commentary by the Russian Embassy in Beirut on the 2nd anniversary of Daria Duginarsquo;s Assassination:

ldquo;Two years ago, on August 20th, Kiev-trained saboteurs orchestrated a terrorist attack against one of the brightest and most influential political, military, and philosophical journalists in modern-day Russia ndash; Daria Dugina.

Unfortunately, this violent crime against an innocent civilian is not a singular incident. Kiev authorities have long been putting to work their indiscriminate tactic of eliminating any and all voices that contradict their propaganda. Numerous Russian journalists and military correspondents fell victim to this lawlessness. Those who put a dent in the elaborate web of disinformation and plain lies creatednbsp;
by Ukrainian officials ndash; or even dare questioning it ndash; suddenly turn into priority targets for hitmen employed by Zelenskyrsquo;s regime.

All of this unravels in utter silence on behalf of competent international organizations. It is as if they are purposely ignoring blatant violationsnbsp;
of international conventions and humanitarian law ndash; simply because doing otherwise would not fit the Western agenda of demonizing everything related to Russia. Speaking up against obvious acts of terror committed by Kiev is essentially tabooed in the so-called ldquo;developed worldrdquo; as it would challenge the dogma of justifying all crimes as long as they are aimed at weakening Russia and instilling fear into our citizens.

On this day, we remember the tragedy of Daria Duginarsquo;s death and hundreds of others who shared her calamitous fate. Journalists continue risking their livesnbsp;
in search for objectivity and truth ndash; not just within the context of the Ukrainian conflict, but covering the disastrous events in Gaza and Lebanon as well. And we hope that these sacrifices are not in vain, and that truth and justice will eventually prevail.rdquo;
