Police footage captures the moment a Florida county official was arrested in June for speeding in his Ferrari as he cunningly tried to get out of a ticket by saying, “I run the county.”
Flagler County Commission chairman Joe Mullins was seen being arrested a second time for speeding in his red Ferrari, Fox 29 reported.
The police car’s dashcam captured the moments when the officer stopped him on Interstate 95, including when he interrupted the officer to reveal his professional title.
The footage shows the unknown agent following Mullins for 20 seconds until the chairman stops abruptly.
The video’s audio was slightly muffled as highway traffic continued in the background.
“I didn’t know,” you hear Mullins say as the officer explained that he was traveling at 92 mph.

As the officer tried to explain to Mullins how to pay the subpoena, the commissioner interrupted, claiming, “I run the county, so I know how that works.
Mullins has been arrested for speeding in the past, according to the officer
The pair can be briefly heard talking about traffic while the officer asks Mullins for his license and registration. The officer then traveled back to his car to process Mullins’ information before returning the Ferrari five minutes later.
“So, 92 miles per hour is 22 about the speed limit, okay?” the officer explained. ‘Normally I give warnings. I’m giving breaks – but it seems you’ve already been given a warning, so I’m giving the quote. That said, it will be paid within 30 days.”
The officer continued to explain the quote to Mullins until he was interrupted.
‘My apologies?’ said the officer.
Mullins then replied, “I run the county, so I know how that works.”
The officer replied uncertainly about Mullin’s professional, “You run the county?”
Mullins replied, “Yes, I am the chairman of the provincial commission.”
The officer responded without regard for Mullins’ status: “I just have to explain this. I don’t want any miscommunication.’
The officer went on to explain the citation to the commissioner before driving into traffic.
Mullins is a Republican running for reelection from his Flagler County committee seat.
The commissioner is proud to support law enforcement as part of his campaign, according to Flaglerlive.com.
