Nottingham Forest are close to a £10m deal with Huddersfield Town for their midfielder Lewis O’Brien and left-back Harry Toffolo after lengthy talks.
The pair helped the Championship club to third in the league last season but narrowly missed promotion after suffering a 1-0 playoff defeat to Forest at Wembley in May.
Full-back Toffolo contributed six goals and eight assists in 48 appearances in all competitions, while O’Brien scored and assisted three.

Steve Cooper’s side has also signed LD Alajuelense’s 19-year-old Costa Rican midfielder Brandon Aguilera.
The newly promoted outfit has wasted no time in the transfer window so far and has already spent over £60million on eight new additions.
Taiwo Awoniyi and Neco Williams arrived at the City Ground for a fee of around £18million, while England international Dean Henderson was on loan from Manchester United.

Wayne Hennessey, Omar Richards, Moussa Niakhite and Guilian Biancone have also signed for Forest ahead of the club’s first Premier League season since 1999.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth and Forest have each made £10m bid for Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier, who scored five goals and five assists at Riverside last season.
Forest has told 29-year-old winger Joe Lolley that he is no longer in their plans and sees Tavernier as a younger replacement.
