Winston-Salem, NC – A mother allegedly shot her three children at a home on the south side of Winston-Salem while on a Facetime call on Tuesday. The mother then reportedly turned the gun on herself.

After receiving a distress call, officers forced entry into the home on Brookhill Drive and found the mother, 40-year-old Ethel Syretha Steele, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
They also discovered the three children, two girls, and one boy, deceased from gunshot wounds. The children were identified as 9-year-old Sakendra Steele, 12-year-old Sakenya Steele, and 14-year-old Sakenlo Steele Jr.
Police conducted a thorough investigation at the scene, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
