A man holding a guitar and a sign that reads: “Free Billie Eilish” has climbed to the top of a 30-foot television tower along Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. local time Tuesday after receiving a report of a man climbing the KTLA tower in the city.
The man was at one point playing his guitar. Officials called him a “protester,” according to reports KTLABut it is not clear what he is protesting against. Since climbing the tower, from which he has since descended, “Free Billie Eilish” has started trending on Twitter.
A large inflatable airbag was placed under the leg as emergency responders lowered him safely.
Roads around the station headquarters have been closed. The power to the tower where the crisis negotiators spoke to the man was also cut.

He tossed his guitar on an inflatable before climbing the 162-foot-tall television tower.
On the other side of his tag read: “MK Slaves Clone Donald Marshall.” It’s unclear what else he referred to, but Marshall was a Canadian who became synonymous with wrongful conviction after he was wrongly convicted of murder in 1971.
