A young woman has been rushed to hospital after jumping 40 meters down a steep slope at a lookout point.
The woman, 24, fell just before 2.30pm Friday at the Cameron Falls Lookout in Tamborine National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
It took rescuers several hours to scale down the mountain and rope her to safety.
Dramatic Nine news vision showed the woman trapped in the rugged bushland being assisted by a rescuer as distressed loved ones anxiously waited upstairs with police.
The young girl (pictured) fell just before 2.30pm on Friday at the Cameron Falls Lookout in Tamborine National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with bruises and minor abrasions, where her condition remains stable.
It is clear that she suffers from shoulder and neck pain.
The woman had been hiking Mount Tamborine with friends before the horror incident unfolded.
It took rescuers several hours to scale down the mountain and bring her to safety
