NNA – House Speaker Nabih Berri received today congratulatory calls on Eid al-Adha from various political figures, including Prime Minister Najib Mikati, former President Amin Gemayel, former Prime Ministers Fouad Siniora, Tamam Salam and Hassan Diab, Deputy House Speaker Elias Abu Saab, former Deputy Prime Minister Samir Mokbel, Marada Movement Chief Sleiman Franjieh, Free Patriotic Movement Chief Gebran Bassil, and former Minister Asaad Hardan.
A number of religious leaders also contacted the House Speaker expressing their Adha well-wishes, including Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John Al-Yaziji, Deputy Head of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, Excellent Jaafari Mufti Ahmad Qabalan, Archbishop Paul Matar, and Mufti of Baalbek and Hermel Sheikh Bakr Al-Rifai.
Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh and Lebanese Army Director of Intelligence,nbsp;Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji, were also among Speaker Berri#39;s well-wishers, alongside a number of current and former ministers and deputies, political and party activiists, and spiritual, security, military, judicial, economic and expatriate prominent figures.
Speaker Berri alsonbsp;received congratulatory cables on the Adha occasion, namely from former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Muhammad Reda Majidi, President of the Federal National Council in the United Arab Emirates Saqr Ghobash, President of the National State Forces Alliance in Iraq Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, Armenian Catholicos Patriarch of the House of Cilicia Raphael Badros XXI and several members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Lebanon.
