Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Nunez’s ‘insane work rate’ after Sunday’s 3-0 win over Brentford.
The striker, who had two goals ruled out before setting up Mohamed Salah’s opener, produced an impressive display at Anfield
Nunez has come under fire in recent weeks and was branded wasteful after missing a sitter in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with struggling Luton last weekend.
But the Uruguayan international proved to be a constant threat against Brentford.
He found the back of the net twice in the first half, but the goals, including a sensational bicycle kick, were both disallowed for offside.

Nunez released Salah to open the scoring in the 39th minute.
Salah doubled the lead in the 62nd minute and Diogo Jota rounded off another dominant home display with a thumping strike in the 74th minute.
But it was Nunez who was praised by Klopp.
He said, ‘Excellent! Excellent! Everyone can see it!
‘Look how he kept the ball for us, who would have thought that last year? That he could do that for us!”
‘Darwin stood out because Brentford wanted long balls, so he started pressing.
‘The work rate was insane.’
