Abbie Chatfield is not a fan of horse racing and says she turned down a significant payday to appear at a racing carnival event.
The former Bachelor star posted on Instagram Stories, questioning why celebrities attended Derby Day at the Melbourne Cup Carnival over the weekend.
“Guys, I thought we were done with racing,” the 27-year-old criticized in a video clip on Sunday.

‘I thought that wasn’t a thing anymore. Like, why do so many people go to the races? What the hell?’ she added.
Abbie then posted a second clip in which she said she had received “sarcastic comments” from people who had asked her to DM (direct messages) if she was invited.
‘Yes, they offered me money to go. Big money, I said fuck racing, Abbie ranted in the clip.

A cavalcade of big-name celebrities turned out for Derby Day on Saturday, including actress Elsa Pataky, model Nicole Trunfio and reality TV star Alison Langdon.
Model Simone Holtznagel, AFL WAG Tayla Damir, The Block star Sharon Johal, model Erin Holland and designer Pip Edwards were almost among the famous faces.
Horse racing remains a controversial subject, with many calling the sport “cruel” and criticizing celebrity attendance at race day events.

Instead, Abbie appeared at the 2022 Australian Business Radio Awards in Sydney on Saturday night.
She was prom queen in a lingerie-inspired ensemble she wore with a ruffled corset and sheer duster, but revealed she was very happy to be alone at the event.
‘I’m not looking for a relationship at all. I want a year of single life,’ she told Daily Mail Australia at the event.
