what’s up with harry
What: In his senior year at the University of Chicago, Sam Basilli (Jake Borelli) is still reeling from his breakup with his last boyfriend, Malcolm. Unbeknownst to Sam, he is also attending college with Harry Turpin (Niko Terho), who used to torment Sam in high school for being gay. On Valentine’s weekend, Sam reluctantly agrees, as a favor to his friends, to do what he considers to be his worst nightmare: drive Harry Turpin to his hometown for nine hours.
Sam’s initial impression of Harry remains the same as it was in high school: he’s a self-absorbed boy, with a teenage mindset, and the kind of guy who cajoles his girlfriends until it becomes too messy for him. However, one small admission from Harry during their road trip could change Sam’s impression of him.
The film follows the bump in the road of Sam and Harry’s interconnected lives and is a fun twist on traditional rom-coms. For those who love a good rom-com, this is for you. It’s an upbeat story with (dare I say spoiler alert) a happy ending.
