Matt Bowen, Head of Daily Banking at ING Australia said: ‘In recent years, the growth of dating apps has opened up a new world of opportunities for singles looking for love. These findings show that Australian singles are investing more in their love lives as a result.
“Not only are we going on dates more, we’re also spending more on those less thoughtful costs like app subscriptions, pre-date beauty regimens, or gifts.
“But love doesn’t have to cost the planet, and a few small changes to the way you date can help keep those costs down.”
It is suggested to opt for cheaper first date options to save money, such as enjoying free outdoor activities.
