NNA – Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Friday welcomed at the Grand Serail a delegation representing the Public Administration Employees’ Association headed by Nawal Nasr.
Caretaker Minister of Labor, Mustafa Bayram, head of the General Labor Confederation, Beshara Al-Asmar, and an accompanying delegation also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Bayram said: “All matters involving the public sector were discussed clearly, and all the logical solutions were presented by the Employees’ Association. (…) The PM is open to all ideas, and ready to discuss all matters in a transparent and clear manner, provided that they’re based on facts and studies within the ceiling of a financial package that could be met by the state.”
It is to note that the Employees’ Association, in cooperation with many stakeholders, has been tasked to present a study that takes into account what was agreed upon during the aforementioned meeting.
For his part, Mikati pledged to redistribute the available funds in a fair and sufficient manner in a bid to keep public administrations running “to produce revenues that both the employees and the state treasury need to remain on the right track.”
