NNA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants responded to quot;news reported by some media stating thatnbsp;Foreign Affairs Ministernbsp;Abdallah Bou Habib did not wishnbsp;to head the ministerial delegation commissionednbsp;to discuss with the Syrian authorities an address to the displacement crisisquot; and quot;some analyzes linked to recent foreign developments and decisions related to this dossierquot;, affirming that quot;Minister Bou Habib#39;s rolenbsp;is to communicate and carry out diplomatic and political contacts with the Arab brethrens.quot;
In an issued statement on Sunday, the Ministry said: quot;The role of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with regards to the displaced Syrians in Lebanon is to communicate and carry out diplomatic and political contacts with our Arab brothers, especially the Syrians, and other friendly countries, which he is performingnbsp;at presentnbsp;and in the future, in coordination with the Prime Minister and with continuousnbsp;follownbsp;up.quot;
The statement added: quot;As for technical issues, the authority to follow up on them rests with the ministers and the concerned apparatuses, each within itsnbsp;competence, in a way that complements and does not conflict with the part entrusted to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.quot;
The statement continued to indicate that quot;the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrantsnbsp;in the coming months is packed with occasions that require high-level attendance and participation, including the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee emanating from the Amman meeting on dialogue with Syria upcoming mid-August, followed in the same month by the renewal of UNIFIL#39;s manadatenbsp;bynbsp;the UN Security Council in New York, the meeting of Arab foreign ministers in the first half of next September, partakingnbsp;in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in the second half of September in New York as well, and other regional and international meetings and conferences.quot;
