Elon Musk replied saying “yes” to Sam Altman’s tweet about the extent of antisemitism in the US.

Elon Musk has found something to agree on with his tech rival Sam Altman.Musk appeared to echo Altman’s comment that antisemitism on the left was worse than he had thought. Musk recently received widespread backlash for endorsing an antisemitic post on X.

Elon Musk appeared to agree with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman that antisemitism on the American left was worse than he had previously thought.

Altman, who is of Jewish descent, tweeted recently that he was “totally wrong” about the extent of antisemitism on the left.

“For a long time I said that antisemitism, particularly on the American left, was not as bad as people claimed,” Altman wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“I’d like to just state that I was totally wrong. I still don’t understand it, really. or know what to do about it,” he added.

Elon Musk appeared to echo Altman’s sentiment, replying: “Yes.”

It comes after Musk recently came under fire for appearing to endorse an antisemitic post on X that has led to major companies pulling advertising from his platform.

The Tesla owner appeared to endorse a post on X that accused Jewish communities of pushing hate against white people, calling it “the actual truth.”

A White House spokesperson described his response as an “abhorrent promotion of Antisemitic and racist hate.”

Musk has since said the post was a “mistake” and “one of the most foolish things” he’d done on the platform.

The controversy could cost the company up to $75 million in ad revenue by the end of 2023, The New York Times reported.

“I handed a loaded gun to those who hate me, and arguably to those who are antisemitic, and for that I am quite sorry,” Musk said at a DealBook Summit.

In the wake of the backlash to his tweet, Musk also visited Israel to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and see areas affected by Hamas’ October 7 attacks.

Following his trip, he posted on X: “Actions speak louder than words.”

Musk helped found OpenAI in 2015, but he has frequently criticized the company in recent years.

Altman has previously called Musk a “jerk” but added that the Tesla CEO did “really care” and was “very stressed about what the future’s going to look like for humanity.”
