Love Island Australia winner and influencer Anna McEvoy has responded to a troll who told her she “contributes nothing to society.”
The reality TV star, 31, shared a video on Instagram on Thursday titled ‘Rant incoming.’
In the clip, she shared an email she received on her company’s website that said, “you don’t contribute anything to society,” to which Anna responded, “Actually… you’re wrong.” And I’m going to tell you why you’re wrong.’
Anna suggested her make-up company Golden Bee, which sells simple, easy-to-use cosmetic products made from “beautiful ingredients”, was changing people’s lives.
“My business makes people feel safe every day of their lives when they wake up feeling radiant… I’m saving people time, making them feel safer, so my business is actually contributing to society” , he claimed.

“Someone who looks like they are not contributing to society would be someone who takes time out of their day to send a message to a small business to tell them that they are not contributing anything to society,” the beauty influencer concluded.
Comes after Anna sparked an online debate after wondering if she bothered the woman sitting behind her on a 16-hour flight.
After a flight to Dubai in August, Anna took to TikTok to share with her 80,000 followers about an awkward exchange between her and another passenger.

Titled ‘The Dirtiest Look I’ve Ever Received’, the video has since racked up over 56,000 views, over 1,000 likes and 38 comments from fans and TikTok users who shared their opinions on the controversial topic of travel.
Fresh-faced and sitting in what appears to be an airport, Anna began: ‘Okay, time to tell travel stories.
‘I just took a 16-hour flight, from Melbourne to Dubai, and it was a red-eye flight. As soon as we took off, I put my seat back because I wanted to try to get as much sleep as physically possible.
Describing how the passenger “broke it”, the former Love Islander continued: “And the lady behind me literally broke it that I put my seat back on a red-eye flight.”
“So I initially turned it back up and then I was like, no, I’m going to have to say something because I want to sleep through the entire flight.
“Anyway I said, ‘I’m going to put it back because I need to get some sleep, but you can tilt the screen so I can see, I hope it’s okay.’
Anna then revealed her fellow travelers’ dismissive response to her suggestion, saying, “This lady of death stared at me, like I didn’t even respond, she just gave me the dirtiest, deadliest look ever.”
She concluded the story by asking her online audience, “Am I wrong?”
The comments came from fans and TikTok users who debated whether the TV and podcast star had really made a mistake, while also considering the need to rest on a 16-hour flight.
Agreeing with Anna’s point of view, one commenter wrote: “Definitely not, she could have reclined her seat and she has the same amount of space.”
Another said: “The seats go back for a reason.” You need to recover or pay for a seat in front.
A third agreed as she shared her own uncomfortable experience.
‘I made this when I came home from Bali. Night flight too. The lady behind me kept making comments about how crushed she was lol,” they said.
Other people were hesitant and expressed that it was more considerate to recline once the meal was over.
One person wrote: “If it was after the meal then it’s totally acceptable,” while another said: “I agree, after the meal is fine.” But I always try to delay it only halfway to be considerate.’
It comes after she sparked an online debate after reclining her seat on a 16-hour flight to Dubai in August.
Some commenters, however, found the idea of reclining invasive and “rude,” with one writing: “Yes… wait until the service is over.”
Another individual wrote: ‘Yes you are wrong! It’s rude. It’s not about the screen of it, it’s about the tight space.”
Anna rose to fame on the second series of Love Island Australia in 2019 and won the show with Josh Packham, but they split in December 2020.
He now hosts the podcast ‘Where’s Your Head?’ alongside Matt Zukowski.
She became Instagram official with Michael Staples, group business manager at Channel Nine, in September 2021.
