NNA – Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, began his tournbsp;in Jezzine, by visitingnbsp;nbsp;quot;Jamaa Islamiyyaquot; headquarters.
Bassil considered during an encounter with the Vice president of the Jamaa Islamiya in Lebanon, Bassam Hammoud, that this tour is a confirmation to all political parties that theynbsp;can work together on the national and strategic level.
quot;We differ in politics, but internally we must show solidarity, especially since we are facing the Israeli threat,quot; he stressed.
In turn,nbsp;Hammoudnbsp;stressed that quot;Sidon was a role model of coexistence and we were seeking to transfer this model to Lebanon. If you enter Sidon through its gate, you are welcome.quot;
Hammoud continued: quot;Of course there is a war in the south and as a group our decision is clear and we are proceeding with it.quot;
quot;We consider Jezzine a natural extension of Sidon and our relationship with the political parties is good and can be built upon and activated,quot; he stressed.
Hamoud concluded by saying:nbsp;ldquo;We are keen to break down barriers, and I believe that the commonalities that can be built upon are greater than the differences between us.rdquo;
Bizri
After his visit to Jamaa Islamiyya, Bassil met with MP Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri.
The pair discussed the vacuum in the presidency and all the practices that are taking place and that lead to violating the Taif Agreement.
Bassil stressed quot;the importance of preserving the Taif Agreement, which gives powers to the Council of Ministers as a whole in the absence of the President of the Republicquot;.
In turn, Bizri stressed quot;the importance of this visit and the need for an Arab position supporting the Palestinian causequot;.
Osseiran, Sousan
As part of his tour in Sidon, Bassil also visited the Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Osseiran and Mufti Salim Sousan, where the words stressed the importance of national solidarity in confronting Israel and appreciating the unifying role of the spiritual leaderships in Sidon in consolidating the values of convergence, openness and coexistence.
