‘It’s surreal’: Austin Butler describes being cast in Dune sequel as ‘incredibly exciting’

Austin Butler seemed to be in high spirits after he recently landed a role in the Dune sequel.
Elvis star, 31 opened up to Variety on Saturday night while on the red carpet at the 2022 Governors Awards about how excited he was to have the chance to join the cast.
“I loved the first movie so much,” he gushed. “It was this cinematic masterpiece, so the idea of being a part of that world is incredibly exciting and Denis (the director) is one of my favorite filmmakers and just an amazing human being.”
New Role: Austin Butler recently landed the role of Feyd-Rautha in the Dune sequel.
The star continued, “He’s so kind and I’m a fan of every one of those actors in the movie, so I was really honored.”
The rising star joined the cast of the film in March and will appear as Feyd-Rautha alongside Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya in Dune: Part Two.
In the original novel, Dune, Butler’s character Feyd-Rautha is the younger nephew of Baron Hardonnen, who is a main character in the 1965 novel Dune and is also a prominent character in the prequel trilogy Prelude to Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. .
After experiencing the set, Butler said that “it’s really surreal” to work on the film.

He added: ‘You feel like a kid in your favorite movie.
“It’s like walking onto the set of any movie you admire, like walking into Indiana Jones or something. Like one of those movies that really impacts you as a kid, that’s what it felt like,” Austin said.
Dune will be released on November 17, 2023.

Butler has recently been seen spending time in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Kaia Gerber.
The two stars seem to be enjoying each other’s company as they seem to find time in their busy schedules to be together as often as possible.
The two attended the 2022 Met Gala in New York City and Elvis’ premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in early May, where they passionately kissed on the red carpet on camera.

Kaia appeared in the tenth season of the FX horror anthology American Horror Story and its spin-off, American Horror Stories.
She will have a recurring role in the Apple TV+ miniseries Mrs American Pie, playing a manicurist named Mitzi.
Mrs American Pie will premiere on the Apple TV+ streaming service at an unspecified date in the future.
