Indeed’s best jobs of 2024 list includes roles paying over $75,000 with flexible-work opportunities.Healthcare and mental-health jobs, such as mental-health therapist and medical director, dominated. Despite companies cracking down on remote work, workers still seek high-paying, flexible roles.
Indeed released its best jobs of 2024 list. It ranks roles like loan officer and mental-health technician at the top.
The job site compiled the list by including jobs with a minimum salary of $75,000, with at least 10% of job postings referencing remote or hybrid work. It also looked at growth in postings from January 2021 to 2024 and ranked the jobs by the number of listings per one million total postings.
Flexible-working opportunities are still popular with one 2023 Bankrate survey of 2,000 working adults in the US finding that 64% prefer full remote work instead of fully in-person work.
Meanwhile, as major companies call workers back to the office, the race to find high-paying, flexible jobs is becoming more difficult.
The careers site Ladders published a report in January that found the availability of hybrid jobs paying $100,000 or more plummeted by 69% by the end of 2023, while the availability of high-paying in-person roles surged by 93%.
Still, rest assured, there are some industries offering flexible jobs and good salaries, Indeed’s list shows.
Healthcare roles, including medical director and psychiatrist, were among the most well-compensated in the list. Mental-health jobs, such as mental-health therapist and psychiatric-mental-health nurse practitioner, dominated.
One of the top jobs was loan officer, with an average salary of almost $200,000, and 75% of job listings mentioning remote or hybrid work. It also doesn’t require a bachelor’s degree.
