A classic ensemble made famous by the late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is among the items to be auctioned as part of a Julien auction lot in March.
The auction house recently posted images and descriptions of the lot, titled ICONS: Playboy, Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Monroewhich will take place from March 28 to 30 in Beverly Hills, California.
Among the items linked to the magazine’s late founder, who died at the age of 91 in September 2017, is a complete ensemble of a classic smoking jacket, silk pajamas, slippers worn by Hefner and a pipe he used .

Another Hefner item incorporating another pop icon, Andy Warhol, is among the items included in the lot, in the form of an acrylic and screen-printed painting titled Playboy Bunny that Warhol created in 1985, two years before his death.

Julien’s, which asks potential buyers to inquire about purchasing directly, describes the unique piece of art commemorating the brand and its place in pop culture as “vibrant and electrifying.”
“The colors jump off the canvas, every shade a testament to Warhol’s brilliance,” Julien said. ‘The meticulous use of screen printing ink adds a layer of intrigue and depth to the piece, a technique that Warhol pioneered and perfected.

Ahead of the auction, select items from the lots are planned to be displayed in China at exclusive locations in Hong Kong and Shanghai, according to Sun.
The first of the exhibitions will be from January 27 to February 1 at the Fringe Club, according to the media.
Hefner wore his traditional ensemble in 2005 alongside Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson.
